Isang Panawagan sa Pakikilahok

Ang Pilipinas ay isang bayang sagana sa kultura at kalikasan na nakasandig sa hinaharap ng mga kabataan ngayon. Sa harap ng hamon at pagbabago sa lipunan natin ngayon, mahalaga ang partipasyon ng mga kabataan upang makabuo tayo ng isang bansang mas maunlad at patas. Ngunit paano nga ba natin ito makakamit? Ito'y madaling sagutin: sa pamamagitan ng aktibong paglahok sa politika. 

 

Maraming kabataan ang naniniwalang ang larangan ng pulitika ay marumi at punong-puno ng katiwalian at pag-manipula. Ngunit kailangan nating baguhin ang sistema upang hindi itong maging hadlang sa ating hinaharap. Kaya't kailangan natin simulan sa ating mga sarili ang pagbabago para sa isang mas maganda at makatarungan na kinabukasan. 

Paano nga ba natin maaaring makilahok sa mga bagay na itey? Una sa lahat ay kailangang maging edukado tayo—hindi lang tungkol sa mga aralin sa eskwela kundi patungkol din sa mga mahahalanag na kasaysayan at kaganapan sa lipunan at pulitika; maari rin na malaman natin ang pinakabagong balita at panoorin ang mga dokumentaryong lumilikha't nagpapaliwanag ng ibat-ibang pangamba't adhikain ng ating bayan.

Importante rin ang maunawaan ang mga konsepto tulad ng demokrasya (ang paraan ng pamamahala kung saan ang kapangayarihan ay nasa kamay ng mga mamamayan), soberanya (ang pinakamataas na kapangyarihan ng estado), at partisyapatibong pamamahala (ang aktibong pakikibahagi ng mamamayan sa pagtatakbo ng pamahalaan).

 

Sumunod naman sa ikawalong pangungusap ay mahahanap ang ating pagkakaisang lahat ng paraan upang mailahad ang ating mga opinyon o pananaw sa mga isyu ng lipunan na ating kinakaharap: maaaring lumahok sa ibat ibang kaganapan o aktibidad ng mga kabataan; magplano at mamuno sa mga kilos-protestang inorganisa; o kaya nama'y magsagawa ng sariling kandidatura sa lokal na halalan tulad ng barangay o paaralan.
